Toronto, ON, October 7, 2025 – Yorkville University (Ontario campus), Toronto Film School, and their administrative staff are coming together under one roof at a brand-new, centralized location at 120 Bloor Street East in downtown Toronto. This bold move marks an exciting new chapter of growth, innovation, and service for the Yorkville University and Toronto Film School learning community.
Throughout the university and college’s history, students, staff and faculty have called a variety of separate facilities home. Now, each school, including their administrative teams, will occupy its own state-of-the-art floor in the new facility, creating a modern, unified hub designed to spark collaboration, creativity, and student success.
“Bringing our entire Ontario community together under one roof is a major milestone,” said Ian Freedman, Chief Executive Officer. “This move reflects our success as an organization and our commitment to building a world-class space where students, faculty, and staff can learn, work, and grow side by side. We are making this investment as a vote of confidence in the educational outcomes of our broad range of programs, including our brand new MBA, and their ability to make a positive difference for our students.”
Located in the heart of Toronto’s business and arts district, the new campuses will offer students unparalleled access to the city’s cultural, creative, and professional opportunities – making it not only a place to learn, but also a launchpad for future careers.
The new facility will provide:
– Cutting-edge learning spaces that elevate teaching, innovation, and student support.
– A vibrant downtown hub connecting students to Toronto’s world-class arts, culture, and business networks.
– Easy transit access, making the campus more connected and convenient.
– One united learning community under a single roof, fostering collaboration and creativity.
“This is more than a building – it’s a symbol of who we are and where we’re headed,” said Dr. Julia Christensen Hughes, President and Vice Chancellor of Yorkville University. “Uniting our schools and staff in one inspiring location is an investment in our future and in the people who make our community thrive.”
“For students, this is a game-changer,” said Andrew Barnsley, President of Toronto Film School. “Having everyone together in one place means easier access to services, more opportunities to connect with faculty and peers, and an environment that fuels creativity and collaboration. Having our campus united in the heart of Toronto ensures our students are surrounded by the industries and cultural energy that will shape their careers.”
As the organization gradually takes possession of each floor, they will craft the space to meet the unique needs of TFS, YU, and their administrative teams. Representatives from across the organization will be deeply involved in the planning process to ensure the new space reflects the needs of a dynamic and growing learning community.
Timeline for the move:
– Toronto Film School will relocate to its new campus in Spring 2026.
– Yorkville University will move into its new campus in Fall 2026.
– Headquarters staff will relocate to their new office in Fall 2027.
