Yorkville University’s Dr. Ellyn Lyle‘s newest book recently hit bookshelves.
Identity Landscapes: Contemplating Place and the Construction of Self, which Lyle published in March, focuses on how relationships with place inform an individual’s identity development.
In announcing the book’s release, Lyle – Dean of Yorkville’s Faculty of Education – took the opportunity to send out her “deepest gratitude to the wise and wonderful scholars who made this collection possible.”
As editor of Identity Landscapes, Lyle tasked the book’s contributors with situating themselves both epistemologically and geographically during their exploration of where place and identity converge.
“Through critical, qualitative, creative, and arts-integrated approaches, this collection aims to advance thought regarding the myriad ways that place informs identity development,” Brill, the book’s Dutch international academic publisher, wrote in its description of Identity Landscapes.
Lyle has previously published several peer reviewed articles and books in the areas of reflexive inquiry, narrative inquiry, teacher identity, and lived and living curriculum.
